This book is the first part of a large project to study the historical Circassian (Adyghe) toponymy of Western Circassia based on Russian documents of the XIII- XIX centuries. It presents the geographical names of Abadzekhi, the territory of one of the ethnic groups of Circassians. All the collected onomastic material is systematized and arranged in alphabetical order. Each name is accompanied by information about where and how it was recorded, its original form is clarified, its location is established and the history of its study is traced. The book includes articles with more than 500 Adyghe toponymic terms and about 1,000 historical Circassian (Adyghe) geographical names recorded in Russian documents and maps of the 18th - 19th centuries.
