The fourth volume of the creative heritage of Viacheslav Lypynskyi includes a reprint of his famous monograph "Ukraine at the turning point of 1657–1659: Notes on the history of the Ukrainian state building in the 17th century". This is one of the most significant historical works of the scholar, which is the pinnacle of the Ukrainian conservative thought and the statist school of historiography. In the center of attention of V. Lypynskyi there is the state of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, the growth of its international authority, the rise of a real role in European geopolitics, as well as profound internal social transformations after the Pereyaslav Act of 1654, when the independence of Cossack Ukraine was actually established.
