The book comprises essays which reconstruct historical portraits of the famous Chechens. This book includes essays in which historical portraits of famous Chechens are reconstructed. In preparing the essays, special attention was paid to the introduction into scientific circulation of new, previously unknown documents both in Russian and in foreign languages, local materials and documents drawn up not only in Arabic, but also in the languages of the peoples of the North Caucasus. Many unique documents from private collections of Chechens, memories of previously known and newly established names of eyewitnesses of the events have been analyzed.
