The book is a publication of notes on the history of the Epiphany (later the Epiphany-Anastasia) Monastery of the city of Kostroma, compiled around 1870 by the famous church scholar, honored professor of the Moscow Theological Academy P.S. Kazansky (1819-1878). Until recently, this work was considered lost, but in 2005 this manuscript was discovered in the State Archives of the Kostroma Region and is now being introduced into scientific circulation.
