The collection of essays presents biographies of a number of prominent lecturers-historians of Rostov University, who worked at the Faculty of History, the inter-faculty department of political history, and the Institute for Advanced Studies at RSU. All of them together form a collective portrait of the Faculty of History of Rostov State University, especially during its heyday in the second half of the 20th century. The essays reflect in a certain way the development of the history and historiography of the Don region and the entire South of Russia.
