Mikhail Vorontsov was a Russian prince and field-marshal, renowned for his success in the Napoleonic wars, and most famous for his participation in the Caucasian War from 1844 to 1853. Amazing palace in Alupka, a private residence of M. Vorontsov, was erected on the southern coast of the Crimean peninsula and became one of the most extraordinary and unique constructions, which embodied philosophical projects of the prince, his ideological utopia and romanticized fantasy.
