Lieutenant General Tadeusz Jordan-Rozwadowski is the undisputed co-founder of independent Poland. From 1918 to 1921, he was one of the most important commanders of the Polish Army. During this time, he twice headed the General Staff of the Polish Army, served as commander of the "East" Army in the Polish-Ukrainian War for Lviv and Eastern Galicia, and as head of the Polish Military Mission in Paris. In August 1920, he authored the plans for the Battle of Warsaw. Thanks to him, the Polish cavalry was reformed and re-equipped in free Poland. During the May Coup of 1926, the general defended the president and the legal government of the Republic of Poland. He spent over a year in the Antakalnis Military Detention Center in Vilnius, and the charges against him were never proven. After his release in October 1928, he traveled to Warsaw, where his health unexpectedly deteriorated, and a few days later, the general died suddenly. In accordance with his last will, he was buried at the Cemetery of the Defenders of Lviv among his soldiers.
