This book is a publication of letters from two brothers, Zhenya and Volodya Fedorov, evacuated from besieged Leningrad, addressed to their mother, military doctor Anna Dmitrievna Fedorova, who remained in the besieged city and worked as a surgeon in evacuation hospital No. 2011, operating on wounded soldiers. These simple letters reflect the lives of tens of thousands of evacuated Leningrad schoolchildren. Despite the difficult war conditions, Soviet children continued to study, read, and play sports whenever possible. 8+
