The biography is published on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth, which is commemorated this year. Neuwirth was an important figure in Slovak public life in the 20th century. In the form of narratives, interviews and excerpts from many texts, the book presents his childhood in a Christian-Jewish family, his medical studies and medical practice, his persecution by the State Security and subsequent imprisonment for political reasons. The publication also traces Neuwirth's later involvement in politics and diplomacy, when he was a founding member of the KDH and the first Slovak ambassador to the Holy See. It contains a rich photographic appendix.
