This is a monograph about the emergence and the development of one of the earliest Pentecostal communities in Bulgaria, the Evangelical Pentecostal Church in the Danubian city of Russe. The book is the result of many years of research. The author draws on a variety of archives, private collections and interviews. He looks at the role of the Office of the Metropolitan of Dorostol and Cherven in the educational, social and spiritual life of the local population and examines the way the Orthodox Church treated the Evangelical and Protestant communities in general, and the Pentecostal community in particular.
