"The Guruli are famous for their honesty and kindness", "Today the Guruli are the most developed and fighting people among Georgians", "The Guruli are the most capable in war, they always fight on foot", - this is how local and foreign authors characterized the Guruli at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. What is surprising, Guruli was used to using a rifle since childhood. A number of sources mention that the Gurus prepared exceptionally well for battle. Giorgi Tsereteli rightly wrote: "Guruli has a weapon in his hand and an enemy in front of him - this is his business."
