The book covers the medical support of the troops in the first, most difficult years of the war, as well as some of the forensic and legal aspects of the war. It is based on the events of the Battle of Stalingrad, the most important battle of the Second World War. The importance of the Saratov region as a front-line region during the gigantic battle on the Volga was emphasized. During the preparation of the publication, a lot of archive documents were studied. It is richly illustrated with photographs.
