Volume 2 of the series “Green Movement and Civil Society” includes materials prepared by nongovernmental organizations upon which the Special report “Ecology and Violation of Human Rights” delivered at the State Duma in October 2002 was based. The analyzed problems are protection of six fundamental ecological rights: the right for favorable environment, compensation for damages caused by ecological violations, ecological information, participation in decisions taking, legal protection and the rights of low-populated nations for their original habitat.
