Created within the framework of a large project, the first book in the "Big people of a small city" series is an independent scholarly work and tells about everyday life and work of notaries in the “smallest city” in the pre-revolutionary Yaroslavl province, the “former economic village” of Myshkin. The book is based on archive materials. The appendix contains essays on local lore by the "notary in the city of Myshkin" K.V. Gryaznov, reproduced from publications of the 1900s, which are a bibliographic rarity.
