The second book of the "Great Deportations" series published by the Lithuanian Genocide and Resistance Research Center. It is intended to commemorate June 14-18, 1941 for the first deportation of Lithuanian residents. During the deportation almost 7,300 people were taken from Lithuania to the steppes and mountains of the Altai region in 1942 in the summer, more than 2,800 Lithuanian exiles were transferred from Altai to Yakutia. Many of them ended up in the deltas of the Lena and Janas rivers, on the shores of the Laptev Sea - the most distant and harshest places of exile.
