The problems of restoration of paintings were discussed at the conference. Some reports are devoted to I.E.Grabar - the great restaurateur. Due to his efforts the masterpieces of Russian art of the XVIIth-XXth centuries were preserved. Articles devoted to the modern methods of restoration with the use of present-day achievements in chemical and biological science are of particular interest.
