Stories of those executed during the Red Terror. In Brno's Cejl Prison, in the aftermath of the February 1948 coup d'etat, executions were actually carried out for a short period of time - less than five years. The stories of those who ended up there with a noose around their necks are extremely dramatic. The last of those executed was the courageous Leopold Dolezal, who joined first the anti-Nazi and later the anti-communist resistance. The book presents his extraordinary story, as well as the stories of nine other brave people who lost their lives needlessly. These include, for example, the indomitable fighter Petr Krivka, but also former partisans Jaromir Vrba and Danek brothers. The life of Jan Krizan, a prominent businessman, was also extinguished in the local prison yard. Those who tried to resist totalitarianism, violence or "just" wanted to live in a free world died on the execution ground. That is why we should know their stories. The book is thus also a repayment of a kind of debt to them and to many other unjustly condemned people.
