The theme of the collection was the historical experience of the exploration and development of the Southern Urals in the face of the diverse challenges of the time. Turning epochs, outstanding events, leading trends and alternative vectors for the development of the region, starting from antiquity, are viewed through the prism of "challenges - answers". Particular attention is paid to the memorable dates of 2021. The specific historical characterization of the regional socio-economic, political, socio-cultural potential is carried out with the involvement of the all-Russian context. Within the framework of philosophical and historical anthropology, certain aspects of the everyday life and mentality of the South Urals associated with the experience and overcoming of existential risks and threats are highlighted, human destinies are traced. The issues of formation and maintenance of collective historical memory are reflected.
