The unique reading-book presents Ukrainian-Russian literary texts of the Middle Ages (the IXth-XVth centuries), given both in the original and in the modern Ukrainian languages. The second book is devoted to the literature of High Middle Ages (988-1240) and Late Middle Ages (1240-the Middle of the XVth century). It contains such firstprimary sources as preaches of Vladimir Monomakh, Reverend Serapion, epistles of Nikifor, metropolitan of Kiev, Klimentiy Smoliatich, Russian metropolitan and Kirilo Turivs'kiy, extracts from Kiev chronicles, annalistic story about Kulikov battle and other ancient texts. Colorful illustrations and selected bibliography are also included.
