World War II is raging in the world. The front passes through Lithuania, dragging heavy leaden legs. After the Germans left, the Russians came and began to impose their order. All those who do not support the new regime are exiled to Siberia. The same thing happens to Magde's family - her father, mother and sister and her brother are put into a truck and taken away. The soldiers do not find the girl, who is safely in the dog's house. She is not just hiding for herself, but is carrying out a secret task assigned by her father.
The teacher finds the one remaining Magda. He, like many other men and women, retired to the forest to fight for the freedom of Lithuania. The teacher takes the girl back to the bunker in the forest and she becomes a real member of the partisan group...
"The Girl with a Gun" is a fictional book, so not everything here is true, but the story is written based on the memories of witnesses and freedom fighters of those times, historical material and a story told by a former partisan liaison about a girl who lived in a bunker with the partisans for some time.
