The book collects earlier published and archival texts created by G.I. Gurkin; articles and notes from the Tomsk provincial period of 1907-1917, chronicle of cultural life of Siberia in the 1920s, literary works of the second half of the XX century, showing the evolution of the image of G.I. Gurkin in Russian literature of the XX century. Grigory Ivanovich Gurkin (1870 - 1937) was a Russian landscape painter, the first professional artist of Altay ethnic origin. He is notable for his Altay mountain landscapes.
