The materials of the conference represent an attempt to reconstitute the process of historical development and present position of German ethnos on the territory of the former USSR. The collection includes three parts. The first part describes the life of Germans in the beginning of the XXth century on the territory of Russian Empire. The second one is devoted to the life of German ethnos in the USSR. The third part includes works connected with problems of historiography, source study and methodology of researches.
