Based on archival sources, interesting and important events of this period are described (the process of writing the first textbook on the history of Georgia, deportations, March 1956 and April 1978). At the same time, the book introduces the concept of "titled nation" and shows how the national and demographic policies of the late Soviet Union influenced the self-identification of the Georgian and Abkhaz people.
