Based on the material introduced into scientific circulation, extracted from written monuments, the works of researchers, as well as revealed during expeditions to the regions of the Udmurt Republic and beyond, a comprehensive comparative-historical study of the Udmurt geographical terminology was carried out in comparison with the material of the Komi, Komi-Permian and other Finno-Ugric languages. Some appellatives of interest from the point of view of their origin and distribution have been mapped. The performed classification of geographical terms with a description of their semantics and etymology is of interest to linguists and everyone interested in the language and culture of the Udmurt people.
