In a study based on long-known, but still not fully introduced into scientific circulation, sources, such as “Notes” by an unknown author to the text of the “Ryazan Chronicle” (“Ryazan landmarks”) and materials prepared in the Ryazan diocese for historical studies of Empress Catherine the Great, an attempt is made to resolve a number of controversial issues that have arisen in the historiography of the study of the genealogy of the Ryazan princely house.
