Julian Dorosh (1909–1982) was a well-known Ukrainian documentary filmmaker, one of the founders of the Ukrainian Photographic Society, an ethnographer, and a local historian. Author's photographs by Yulian Dorosh are an important page in the history of the cultural heritage of the Ukrainian people. The photographer has devoted almost half a century to hard work: photo-fixing the customs, traditions, life and crafts of Ukrainians in Galicia, Pokuttya, Hutsul, Boykivshchyna, Bukovyna and Volyn. Julian Dorosh's multifaceted creative work is the subject of a number of scientific works and requires further careful research. The publication uses the author's captions of photos by Julian Doros. Julian Dorosh's photographs are stored in museum collections in Ukraine, the USA, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
