The publication is devoted to the in-depth study of the phenomenon of ancient Russian fur money, covered in written sources and testimonies of foreigners of the 11th – 15th centuries. This unique phenomenon in world history is associated with the use of lead seals from the same period known from archaeological finds. On the basis of the scientific publications existing to date, a catalog of the attributed monuments of the ancient Russian "small sphragistics" has been compiled.
