The works summarizes results of the integrated geological and metallogenic studies conducted by TuvIENR SB RAS on the territory of Tuva and adjacent regions of Central Asia: isotopic-geochemical and geochronological isotopic-geochronological and petrologo-geochemical ones; studies of supergene mineralization conditions of the precious metals and placers forming process; estimation of the crust recent heat flow and its relations to the recent geodynamics, geothermics and manifestations of Cenozoic volcanism; elaboration of new energy-saving chemical and technological schemes for advanced processing of mineral raw materials and technogenic waste.
The researchers have analyzed the actual state of regional watershed complexes and technogenic influence on the quality of water resources and biodiversity; the current research projects include studies and the long-term monitoring of the republic steppe and forest ecosystems - their state and self-restoring capacity determine the livestock production capability. The problems of Tuva economic developement are paid much attention to in research works of the Institute: the scientists have worked out guidelines for creating mineral raw materials-based economic growth centres on the boundary territories of the republic in light of actual social, technological and ecological aspects of modern environmental management.
