The novel depicts the years 1916–1918 through the story of Ilyas Mullayarov, a villager who returns home after being wounded in the war. Revolutions and the Civil War are shown through the division of villagers into opposing camps, with the conflict escalating into the struggle between Whites and Reds. Romantic storylines among young characters add a lyrical tone. In 2023, the work won first prize in the "Novel" category of a literary competition organized by the Commission under the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.
