The book is about the history of the last midshipmen of the Russian fleet. The pages of the publication tell about the "odyssey" of a group of young sailors who entered the Marine corps and Separate midshipmen classes in 1914-1917 and departed in October 1917 from Petrograd to Vladivostok for practical training on the cruiser Orel (named after the Orel city) and the destroyers Grozny and Boyky. Among them were graduates of the Orel Bakhtin cadet corps. Most of them did not have a chance to return to their homeland ... A significant part of these materials were found in the archives and were previously unknown to specialists.
