Academician Katardziev is one of the founders of the Macedonian historical science and one of the most prominent Macedonian historians. The subject of his scientific interest is the history of the Macedonian people in the last two centuries, and in particular the history of the national liberation movement and the struggles for freedom and independence of the Macedonian people. He is considered one of the best connoisseurs of Macedonian history since the late 19th century and the first half of the 20th century.
