Andrey Vasiliev (pseudonym: Dorj Batu, Dorje Batuu) is a Ukrainian journalist and writer of Buryat origin. Born December 21, 1977 in Ulan-Ude, in a family of musicians. Father - Vyacheslav Vasiliev, artistic director of the Buryat Opera and Ballet Theater, later acting Minister of Culture of Buryatia. Maternal grandfather - Zhigzhit Batuev (Batu) - one of the founders of the Buryat-Mongolian classical music. In 2002 he moved to Ukraine. Living in Ukraine, learned the Ukrainian language. Subsequently, he moved to the United States. He currently works as a satellite operator at NASA. He has a Ukrainian-language blog where he describes work at NASA. In 2018, he published a book about his adventures in NASA.
