The book contains stories of 14 families of Belarusian and French citizens - "children of France". In the interwar period, their parents left for France from the territory of modern Belarus, and at the call of the Stalinist authorities decided to return to their homeland. In the USSR, they were waiting for repression, hunger, a ban on returning to France. Only in the XXI century, some of them were able to visit their homeland, while some returned their French passports and moved to France.
The book also contains information about the Belarusian diaspora in France in the 30-50s of the XX century, Belarusian organizations, trade unions and newspapers, information about the participation of Belarusians in the French Resistance, as well as how and why the Stalinist USSR organized "repatriation" with France.
