The Nizhny Novgorod hydroelectric power station is the fourth stage in the Volga-Kama cascade of hydroelectric facilities. The decision to build it was made shortly after the end of the Great Patriotic War, and on November 2, 1955, the station gave its first current. During the construction, not only a hydroelectric station appeared, but also a new city Zavolzhye.
