To recreate the biographies of the heroes, the author studied and processed hundreds of archival documents and award sheets, which ultimately resulted in a kind of personal biography of the Kabardin Cavalry Regiment, whose riders and officers, with their military deeds, made a worthy contribution to the combat chronicle of the Russian army in the First World War.
