In the XXth century the Russian Fleet had to survive several disasters. The beginning of the century was marked by the Port-Arthur and Tsusim tragedies. Later the navy came to be a victim of voluntary campaigns introduced by Trotski, Beria and Khrushchev. The present monograph scopes the three attempts to form a strong ocean fleet in Russia.
