The book begins as a historical novel about the events of the beginning of the last millennium: about the life of one of the first kegeliyas - communities of Christians, severely persecuted, and therefore they are forced to live away from big cities. This community lives in the so-called Oage, a mysterious place that can only be reached through the dangerous Valley of Stones, where many dangers lie in wait for the traveler. The Kegelian preacher is Romai, his love wins over Melan, who has joined the community by accident. She is unaware of the laws by which the kegeliya lives, she does not perceive either their faith, or their brother-sister relations, or their all-forgiving Christian mercy. Personal happiness with a beloved man at any cost - that's her credo. For his sake, she is ready for anything, even treason. Do we have the right to disregard the morality and fate of other people for our own pleasure?
