Thanks to the Ukrainian translation of Zofia Kossak-Schutska's little-known story "Fire", which is little known to the general public, we have the opportunity to discover not only a new name, but also many interesting facts about events in Ukraine in general and in Eastern Volhynia in particular during the February Revolution and October the coup of 1917, during the German occupation of Ukraine, and the Polish-Ukrainian armed conflict of 1918–1919. The story has historical and cognitive value, contains interesting local lore material.
