Why in the USSR, despite the large scope of design and development work in 1929-1941. for military missiles, which had no analogues in any other country, during the war only three of the same type of design were used for multiple launch rocket systems? The book gives a detailed answer to this question. It critically examines the activities of four rocket centers of the interwar period: the Gas Dynamics Laboratory, the Group for the Study of Jet Propulsion, Design Bureau No. 7, and the Rocket Research Institute. In addition, little-known information about the creation, production and combat use of multiple launch rocket systems is given.
