The study checks the factography of the chronicle "The tale of the Battle on the Vozha river". The main attention is paid to the topographic details of the events described and the personalities listed as participants. As a result of the consideration, conclusions are drawn about the inconsistency of the chronicle description with the reconstructed conditions of the place-time indicated in it and the doubtfulness of the existence of a significant part of the persons depicted in the narrative. The main result of the work is the denial of the fact of the event of the Battle of Vozh due to the lack of reliable information about its conduct. The publication is accompanied by an Appendix, which reproduces an array of medieval texts telling about the battle.
