The book will introduce readers to one of the most famous L'viv architects of the first half of the 20th century - Ferdinand Kassler, who contributed to the creation of a unique image of the city through his innovative activities. The authors analyze the urban transformations of L'viv during the period of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and the Second Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, a city that developed rapidly and was a grateful place for creative searches and experiments. The architect's life path, the stages of the formation of his professional personality, the formation and evolution of aesthetic ideals and beliefs are studied. Special attention is paid to the importance of Ferdinand Kassler as the founder of modernist architecture in Galicia and his influence on the further development of L'viv.
