Faibisch-Shraga (Sam) Tsarfin (fr. Faïbich-Schraga Zarfin; January 7, 1900, Smilovichi, Russian Empire - September 25, 1975, Roni-sous-Bois, France) - Belarusian and French artist of Jewish origin. Representative of the Paris School. Painter, fabric designer, book illustrator, poet.
The critic and art critic Andre Farsi wrote about the author "... he is an artist of rare and multifaceted sensitivity, his work is among the artists who bring light to us."
The philosopher and art critic Etienne Surjo, who taught at the Sorbonne, devoted one of his university lectures to Tsarfin and wrote several articles about him, calling his work “one of the highest achievements of modern art”. Art critic Emmanuel Re wrote about the author: “Tsarfin reminds me of the great Russian poet F. Tyutchev, for whom the outside world was only a fleeting and short-lived vision, briefly arising from chaos and disappearing into it ...”.
