According to the results of statistics, expert assessments, sociological surveys conducted in the Republic of Dagestan in recent years (2018-2021) the current state of the prevention of extremism and terrorism, carried out in a comprehensive school and in the family, is shown. The main attention in the text is paid to problematic issues in solving the problems of counteracting the extremes of religious consciousness of high school students. The author made an attempt to implement a secular view of the analysis of the causes and methods of countering extremism and terrorism in the Republic of Dagestan.
