The monograph addresses current issues of the discourse theory and media discourse, in particular. From the standpoint of the new rhetoric, the author investigates the phenomenon of factualization as a cognitive reflection and transformation of actuality. Types of factualization in the media discourse and corresponding types of media facts are highlighted and described. Communicative features of media fact representation, including adaptive and deviation characteristics, are analyzed.
