The results of scientific research on the ethnography of the Evenks are presented in the fundamental work of the outstanding Russian ethnographer and Tungus scholar, Doctor of Historical Sciences G.M. Vasilevich. The research is based on extensive materials from expeditions of 1925–1960 with the use of museum collections and archival sources. The first book examines issues of origin, ethnonymy, history of settlement, and the life support system of the Evenks until the beginning of the 20th century. Author: Vasilevich Glafira Makarievna (1895-1971) is the largest Soviet Tungus scholar, ethnographer, Doctor of Historical Sciences.
