The monograph is devoted to the interaction between Russia and the Mongolian peoples of Inner and Central Asia in the field of medicine and health care since the last third of the 19th century to the 1950s. The study is based on an extensive corpus of archival sources. Attention is focused on the relationship between doctors and the traditional nomadic communities of Buryatia, Mongolia and Tuva.
