The dictionary contains about 600 basic Lak vocabulary words, accompanied by their regular phonetic correspondences in other Dagestani languages. In the analysis of early borrowings from other languages (Persian, Turkic, Arabic), a wide range of comparative material from the "Muslim circle" of languages is used, highlighting regular phonetic and semantic changes in the borrowing languages. As a supplement to the dictionary, the author includes materials on sound-symbolic words (580 headwords along with their derivatives). The dictionary also contains material on anthroponymy, presenting around 40 Lak proper names of etymological interest in the form of dictionary entries.
