The Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the University of Latvia in collaboration with the Ebert Foundation in Latvia and foreign colleagues has resulted in a new project - the publication of the interdisciplinary scientific journal "Ethnicity". The articles from the journal "Ethnicity" formed the contents of the multi-author monograph "Ethnicity. Towards the Politics of Recognition in Latvia: 1991-2012". The monograph includes articles by scientists and researchers from Latvia, Poland and Russia. The editors of the monograph hold the opinion that despite the unique development and implementation of politics of recognizing ethnic identities the Latvian Experience logically fits into the wider East European context, characterized by special attention to the connection between the right of an individual to his/her ethnic identity and the system of universal human rights.
