The book is dedicated to the problem of genesis of one of the biggest groups of Siberian Tatars. The anthropological composition of Tobol and Irtysh Tatars is studied basing on craniology, cranioscopy, osteology and serology. Their anthropological type and its taxonomy in the system of race subdivisions of Western Siberia are determined. The anthropological composition of the medieval population of Western Siberian Plain is considered; the share of medieval populations in the forming of Tobol and Irtysh Tatars and other peoples of Western Siberia is defined. The publication is meant for anthropologists, ethnographers, archaeologists and historians.
