The monograph presents the results of a study of more than two hundred years of history of the Greek Catholic community in Bukovina within modern Ukraine - Chernivtsi Diocese of the UGCC and modern Romania - Bukovina Deanery of the Ukrainian Vicariate of the Romanian GCC. The book covers the process of gradual development of the network of Greek Catholic parishes and its importance for preserving the national identity of Bukovinian Ukrainians, as well as the ascetic ministry of the Greek Catholic clergy under Austrian, Romanian, Soviet and during the revived independent Ukraine. Of particular value are the biographies of about three hundred pastors who worked or are working in the region on the development of Christ's vineyard.
